Make a Wish Ireland Receives £2,500 Following Employee Vote

We’re thrilled to bring you the exciting news of another donation made by the Pavers Foundation, following our Charities of the Year vote!

Employees across Pavers, Jones Bootmaker and Herring Shoes came together to vote between four fantastic charities, Dementia UK, Designability, Make a Wish Ireland, and NSPCC.

With Dementia UK taking nearly half of the votes, we recently announced the cause as the winner, and as such, they received a significant donation from the Pavers Foundation.

However, the fantastic work of the three runner-up charities did not go unnoticed, each cause including Make a Wish Ireland, have received a donation of £2,500.

Make a Wish Ireland grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions, to bring hope, strength and happiness and to provide respite from their normal routines of hospitals, doctors and treatment. The charity strives to ensure that all immediate relatives can participate in the child’s wish, creating lasting, happy memories for the entire family.

Since launching in 1992, Make a Wish Ireland has granted the wishes of more than 2,400 brave children across Ireland, including trips to Disneyland, Bedroom Makeovers and even a meet and greet with Liverpool Football Club!

Marjut Ellis, Corporate Fundraising Officer said:

“On behalf of our wish children, a sincere thank you for this wonderful donation!

Every donation is hugely important to Make-A-Wish as we receive no government funding and rely completely on the generosity of companies and individuals to continue granting seriously ill children’s wishes.

This gift will make a real difference to Make-A-Wish and help us bring smiles and happy memories to our wish children. A wish allows children to escape routines of hospital visits and treatments, replacing them with carefree life-changing experiences . A wish can create moments of joy and memories that last a life-time.”

The Pavers Foundation is delighted to support such a heart-wearming cause that strives to bring  smiles to those in need. For more information on Make a Wish Ireland, please visit www.makeawish.ie
