Parkinson’s UK receives £2,500 from employee vote!

We’re thrilled to bring you the exciting news of another donation made by the Pavers Foundation, following our Charity of the Year vote!

Employees across Pavers, Jones Bootmaker and Herring Shoes came together to vote between four fantastic charities, Antibiotic Research UK, Dogs for Good, Mind and Parkinson’s UK.

Mind received the majority of votes and was awarded £65,000 from the Pavers Foundation, becoming the next Charity of the Year. However, the fantastic work of the three runner-up charities did not go unnoticed and each cause including Parkinson’s UK, has received a donation of £2,500 from the Foundation to support their work.

Parkinson’s UK is a national charity offering advice, support and information for people living with Parkinson’s. Their services include a free and confidential helpline operated by specialist nurses and advisers, who are on hand to provide information about living with Parkinson’s. Parkinson’s UK has an extensive network of 365 local groups, offering support all over the country. The charity also funds ground-breaking research to improve understanding of the condition, with hopes to one day find a cure.

The £2,500 donation from the Pavers Foundation could help Parkinson’s UK to fund over 100 hours of vital research and allow scientists to test new treatments in their mission to find a cure for Parkinson’s.

“A huge thank you to the Pavers Foundation for this very generous donation to Parkinson’s UK. Our work supporting people with Parkinson’s and research to find a cure for the condition is completely dependent on donations. To put it simply, without this support the work we do just wouldn’t be possible.”
