Sporting Knavesmire Football Club Receive £1,200

Sporting Knavesmire Football Club (FC) has received a donation of £1,200 from the Pavers Foundation. Ian Williams, Warehouse Operative at Pavers head office in York, applied for the grant to support the club in which his son plays for.

Sporting Knavesmire was formed in 2010 and play in the Premier Division of the York Minster Engineering Football League. Last year the club introduced a reserve team with the aim of bringing junior players into the game.

Ian’s son has played for the club for the past 5 seasons and Ian himself volunteers for the club to help raise money. In order to meet the running costs of the club, Sporting Knavesmire rely on fundraising events and the support and generosity of local businesses.

Ian Williams, Warehouse Operative at Pavers said:

“I’m so grateful to the Pavers Foundation for this donation. The funding is much-needed especially now the club has a reserves team. All the players are extremely grateful for the donation too, which has been put towards the coming seasons training sessions”.

John Dale, Sporting Knavesmire FC:

“Thank you to the Pavers Foundation for this generous donation. With this we were able to access our chosen training facility which has been a great assistance to the club.

The support for our club has been beyond our wildest dreams and we really do appreciate your help ”.

The Pavers Foundation is pleased to be able to support Sporting Knavesmire and wishes the club the best of luck for next season!
