Dumbarton Riverside Champions Disability Football Team Grant Win

The Pavers Foundation has donated £1,500 to Dumbarton Riverside Champions Disability Football Team.

The donation was initiated by Donna McGarva, Assistant Manager at the Pavers store in Loch Lomond Shores, through the Foundation’s grant application scheme. Donna is the Head Coach and Manager of Dumbarton Riverside Champions Disability Football Team.

In the twelve years since establishing, Dumbarton Riverside FC has grown significantly from 10 players to over 200 children and adults, who turn out regularly for training and weekly league fixtures.

The Riverside Champions Disability Football Team comprises of adults with a range of disabilities and additional needs, they are currently involved in the National League run by the Scottish FA which brings together disability teams from all over Scotland. Since forming six years ago, the Dumbarton Club has been awarded with a Disability Club and Quality Mark status by the SFA.

We would like to thank the Pavers Foundation for this very kind donation and everyone in our team is extremely grateful. The donation will go towards travel costs to league matches and also various tournaments throughout the season.

The players of the football team train once a week and they partake in various tournaments throughout the year spanning across the country with an aim to broaden the team’s life experiences and sporting abilities. Recent matches have reached as far as Blackpool and Harrogate and the £1,500 from the Pavers Foundation will contribute towards future travelling expenses for the whole team.
