York Against Cancer has received a £2,500 grant from the Pavers Foundation as a result of fundraising carried out by the charity for 18 months, culminating in a York Brass Against Cancer a concert, on 19th January 2020.
The funding was applied for by Kenny Parker, Warehouse Operative at Pavers Head Office in York, through the Foundation’s employee- led grant application scheme.
Kenny, who’s brother-in-law, Mike Pratt, is a member of the Shepherd Group Brass band said:
“I am sure that this money will make such a difference to all cancer sufferers and their families. Most of all this money will give them hope!”

The donation went towards sponsoring the event, which raised over £2,500 itself from ticket sales and bucket collections during the afternoon.
Mike Pratt commented on the success of the event and how enjoyable it had been to be a part of,
“The day itself was all and more than everyone involved in the organisation could have wished for with a near capacity crowd enjoying brass band music of the highest standard from two top class bands.

The Pavers Foundation are delighted to offer continual support to York Against Cancer, with this donation bringing the total donated to this charity up to £16,100 since the Foundation began in 2018.
