White Cross Court Rehabilitation Hospital receives £7,500

White Cross Court Rehabilitation Hospital are thrilled to have received a fantastic donation of £7,500 from The Pavers Foundation to help support their patients.

The White Cross Court Rehabilitation Hospital provides Rehabilitation services as part of York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust's general healthcare provision. The donation from The Foundation will help to fund a special hoist to help patients manoeuvre from sitting to standing, furthering their rehabilitation and promoting independence.

The donation came after an employee at Pavers Head Office in Upper Poppleton applied through The Pavers Foundations grant application scheme, after one of their family members received such fantastic care and support at White Cross Court.

Rachel Rowley, physiotherapist at the Hospital highlighted the value of a hoist:

“The hoist will help to support the staff here by aiding our patients’ rehabilitation. Often patients have come from a long stay in hospital and aren't able to independently move from sitting to standing. The hoist will help these patients get back on their feet again, and give them back that independence and confidence”.

The Foundation is overjoyed to donate to such a fantastic organisation and can’t wait to see the positive impact that this funding will have on The White Cross Court Rehabilitation Hospital.

Marianne Jordan, matron at White Cross Court Rehabilitation Hospital added:
“We would like to say a huge thank you to The Pavers Foundation for such a generous and thoughtful donation which will definitely make things better for both patients and staff.”
