The Pavers Foundation donates £500 to help fund life-changing equipment

We’ve donated £500 to help purchase a height adjustable changing table for Rhiannon Anderson, a 17-year-old who is wheelchair dependent and has Cerebral Palsy and Epilepsy.

Rhiannon, who lives with her parents, requires support with all aspects of day-to-day living, including personal care. Rhiannon’s mum, Sandra Anderson, is determined to raise as much money as possible to support her daughter and to help fund equipment for the home.

Angela O’Neil, Customer Advisor at Pavers in Glasgow and friend of Sandra, submitted a grant application to the Pavers Foundation to support Rhiannon.

“I first got to know Rhiannon roughly 6 years ago after becoming friends with her mum Sandra at a special needs club that I attended with my own son, Sean.

We decided to set up a fundraiser as Rhiannon needed more physical care as she grew and got older. For the past year we’ve been trying to raise £4,000 towards the cost of a height adjustable changing table for Rhiannon, which will help to make bathing and changing easier and more comfortable.

So far, I, together with Rihanna's mother, Sandra, and the support of the local community have held race nights and dances. We've managed to raise £2,200 towards the cost of the changing table. I chose to get involved in raising money for Rhiannon as I am a mother of a disabled adult and understand the hardship faced. The changing table will be life-changing for Rhiannon and her mother.”

We’re so pleased that we’re able to offer our support and we hope that this new equipment will make life that bit easier for Rhiannon and her mum, Sandra.
