Pavers Foundation Supports Women in Sport with £1,000 Donation

The Pavers Foundation, employee-led charitable initiative of leading multi-channel shoe retailer Pavers has donated £1,000 to Kilcummin Ladies Gaelic Football Club on behalf of Denise Smyth, Store Manager at Pavers Killarney. The Foundation is delighted to make this donation to support women’s endeavours in sport which often get overlooked.

Denise applied for funding through the Pavers Foundation’s employee-led grant application scheme, after realising the pivotal role it plays for many who live in the local area: “Having grown up in Kilcummin I have always been a supporter of the ladies club, I’ve seen it go from strength to strength and it is such an anchor of the local community. Over the last year, supporters have not been able to show their pride and appreciation for what the club provides both for the players and the wider LGFA family”.

Colm Brosnan explained how the donation will be put to good use by the club:” This donation is greatly appreciated and will be used to buy essential training equipment. We are seeing growing numbers attending our training sessions and now typically have over 20 ladies at each session who find it much more enjoyable and beneficial when we have enough training resources. Thank you, Pavers!”

The Foundation has recently reached its first £1million milestone of charitable donations and is delighted to continue to support local charities and causes close to the hearts of its 1500 colleagues. The Pavers Foundation receives 2% net profit from the main business each year alongside proceeds from the sale of carrier bags in their 170 stores across the UK and Ireland, giving them a million more reasons to make a difference with every pair.
