Pavers Foundation Supports Colleague Fundraiser: Strutting for Cancer!

The Pavers Foundation, charitable initiative of multi-channel leading footwear retailer Pavers, has recently donated £1,000 to Macmillan Cancer support on behalf of Jean Williams, Sales Assistant at Jones Bootmaker (a subsidiary of Pavers) in Harrogate.

The grant was donated in support of Jean’s fundraiser, Strutting for Cancer, which saw cancer patients from the local area, along with professional models and people who have been affected by cancer, taking to the catwalk to showcase collections from local businesses who sponsored the event.

Jean, a colleague at Jones Bootmaker in Harrogate, and friend of Lucille Austin, who works at Pavers Head Office, has been an avid fundraiser for Macmillan Cancer support, having overcome cancer herself many years ago. The Pavers Foundation, upon hearing of Jean’s mammoth fundraising efforts, were delighted to award a £1,000 donation in support of the fashion show, which was attended by friends and colleagues of Pavers in Harrogate. The donation has been ringfenced to specifically support cancer patients and their families in the North Yorkshire area.

Jean thanked the Foundation for the donation and expressed her delight at the return of the event, after a 2-year hiatus for the pandemic: “Macmillan is a cause so close to my heart, I am excited to see the return of the fashion show which we hope will raise thousands of pounds for such a fantastic cause”.

The Pavers Foundation has donated over £1.5 million to good charities and causes over the last 4 years, and is proud to continually make a difference to charities and causes in areas of health, education and community, the vast majority of which are nominated by colleagues of the business.
