Pavers Foundation matches Driffield Pre-School fundraising!

The Pavers Foundation, employee-led charitable initiative of York-based multi-channel footwear retailer Pavers has donated £900 to First Steps Pre-School, based in Driffield, as a result of a grant application from Cullen MacIntosh, Supply Chain Co-Ordinator at Pavers Head Office.

Cullen applied for funding through the Foundation’s employee grant scheme, which allows colleagues of the business to donate money to causes close to their hearts in areas of health, education, and community. The Foundation matched £900 worth of fundraising already carried out by the pre-school to fund new outdoor equipment for the children to use this summer.

Cullen explained why he chose to apply to the Foundation: “The reason I nominated First Steps was as a small way to say thank you for the warm and loving environment they have created for my daughter, Arabella over the last two years. First Steps is an amazing pre-school at the heart of our local community full of hard working and dedicated staff who make each day feel special and exciting. I am incredibly grateful to the Pavers Foundation as the new outdoor play equipment which will be purchased with this donation will be used and enjoyed by children for years to come.”

Pip Mountain, Pre-School Manger explained what a difference the funding will make: “We would like to say a huge thank you to The Pavers Foundation for their generous donation to our pre-school. As a charity, we rely heavily on our fundraising in order to provide new resources and exciting experiences for the children in our care. The pandemic has made this much more difficult to achieve and this donation was much needed!

The children are going to benefit enormously from the new outdoor equipment that we plan to buy this Summer. We are looking forward to sending photographs of everyone having fun and benefiting from your generosity.”
