Pavers Foundation donates to Eggborough Community Church!

The Pavers Foundation, employee-led charitable initiative of multi-channel footwear retailer, Pavers, has recently donated £1,040 to Eggborough Community Methodist Church on behalf of a colleague from Pavers Head Office in York.

Ken Shaw, who works in the customer services department at Pavers in York applied for funding through the Pavers Foundation’s employee-led grant application scheme which encourages all colleagues of the business to apply for grants on behalf of charities and causes close to their hearts.

Ken applied for funding for the community church welcome warm scheme, for which his wife volunteers, and which aims to combat rural social isolation in the surrounding area. The donation will be used to sustain the community welcome warm space for 26 weeks, providing a lifeline for those in the community.

Brenda Oldfield, Church Treasurer explained the difference this grant will make to the group; “Everything that we do is aimed at the prevention of loneliness and isolation in our elderly residents and to have fun, thank you on behalf of everyone at Eggborough Community Methodist Church”.

Ken thanked the Foundation for making this donation; “Many thanks for this contribution it certainly will make a difference”.

The Pavers Foundation is delighted to make this meaningful donation on behalf of one of its valued colleagues and is committed to its mission to make a difference with every pair sold, donating 2.5% net profits from the business each year to the Foundation, along with the proceeds from the sale of all carrier bags across its stores in the UK and Ireland.
