Dog SOS continues rescue mission thanks to the Pavers Foundation

The Pavers Foundation has supported Derbyshire charity, Dog SOS with a £500 donation following a grant application submitted by Janine Wheeldon, Sales Advisor at Pavers in Belper. The charity supports those who have lost their dogs, or had them stolen, using specialist equipment to try and reunite pets with their owners.

Dog SOS operates via a number of channels offering advice, support and expertise to dog owners in need through sharing posters, searching large areas of land, tracking movements of lost pets with specialised cameras and capturing animals with humane traps and cages.

The donation will be put towards buying a thermal imaging scope, to help easily identify dogs that have been lost and are not visible to normal cameras or the naked eye. The team at Dog SOS are convinced that the introduction of this equipment will increase their ability to reach many more lost animals and prevent the unfortunate death of many dogs who go missing.

Janine explained the massive impact that the charity has on the local communities it helps in Derbyshire,

“The team has over 500 supporters…many of these supporters are there because they have been touched in some way by the work this team [Dog SOS] does. They may be owners of dogs, friends, local people who have volunteered to help when a dog has gone missing or just a local person who has followed their story. The team know that without this support, they wouldn’t be able to continue.”

The Pavers Foundation is pleased to offer this donation to Dog SOS Derbyshire, in order that they can continue rescuing people’s beloved pets in the Derbyshire area.
