Mark Granger, Director of Operations at Pavers with Emma Bruce, Graphic Designer at our Head Office and Maya Liversidge, Community Fundraiser at York Teaching Hospital Charity.
We’ve recently donated £850 to the York Teaching Hospital Charity to help fund services at the Magnolia Cancer Care Centre. The Magnolia Centre is an umbrella team for York cancer services, which includes Haematology, Chemotherapy and Breast Services.
Emma Bruce, Graphic Designer at our Head Office in York, applied for the funding to help the centre after a family member received amazing support there. Emma’s Grandma was referred by her GP to Magnolia for her cancer tests, and eventually had to undergo chemotherapy at the centre.
“Having recently had a relative undergo chemo at York hospital, I saw first-hand how brilliant all the team there are. They go the extra mile to make something horrible just a little more comfortable and manage to create a warm and friendly atmosphere. I am very grateful that the Pavers Foundation has helped me to give back to the centre."Emma Bruce, Graphic Designer at our Head Office in York
The donation of £850 will help to purchase a new specialist trolley, which will be used to prepare medications at the side of a patient.
“Having chemotherapy in hospital can be both mentally and physically challenging for patients. The items that we as a charity can help to fund make all the difference to those patients who are here every week. Each patient has different medical needs and having a trolley that is set up for each individual patient can make the experience so much smoother and less stressful for not only the patient, but also for the staff caring for them. This generous donation will allow us to fund these above and beyond items that allow the staff to provide the service that they want for their patients”.Maya Liversidge, Community Fundraiser at York Teaching Hospital Charity
