The Pavers Foundation Responds to Charity Assisting Retail Workers During Covid -19 Pandemic

The Pavers Foundation has donated on behalf of Graham Paver, £5,000 to the Fashion & Textile Children's Trust to assist them with their amazing work supporting families in the UK fashion and textile sector who are struggling financially to meet their child’s basic needs during the Covid-19 pandemic. It’s our industry – let’s support each other, together.

The donation to the charity during the sector’s hardest hit period in history, will enable the Fashion & Textile Children’s Trust continue to provide for children from 0 – 18yrs whose parents work in the UK fashion and textile industry. The donation will go towards covering the cost of essential items such as clothing, shoes, bedding and household essentials, including white goods. If a child has a disability or additional needs, the donation can also help to support with mobility equipment, sensory toys, therapies and more. The charity is also able to support with grants for tablets / laptops to support with home learning at this time of school closures.

Anna Pangbourne, Director at the Fashion & Textile Children’s Trust said the following about the donation:

“Enquiries to our charity have tripled in the last few weeks from families who are already feeling the devastating financial impact of Covid-19. This wonderful donation from Pavers, will enable us to reach out to families who have lost vital income and are struggling to pay for items that their children need, but they now cannot afford. We are truly indebted”

Pavers, a retailer itself knows only too well the challenges faced by the coronavirus whilst its stores go through a period of temporary closure resulting in around 1600 of its employees being furloughed.  These closures are in line with government guidelines to help ease the strain on essential services, care facilities and the NHS, who are all going above and beyond at this difficult time.  During these incredibly difficult times Pavers furloughed colleagues are all being actively encouraged to help in any way they can in their local communities.

The Pavers Foundation was established in 2018 and is proud to support the Fashion & Textile Children’s Trust.
