Supporting Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice

The Pavers Foundation has donated £1,000 to Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice, a registered charity supporting children, young people and families across Hertsmere, North and Central London. Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice provides clinical, practical, emotional care and support to children with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions.

Richard Hudson, Store Manager at Jones Bootmaker, St Albans, applied to the Pavers Foundation to support Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice after hearing about the incredible work taking place there.

Richard applied to support the charity’s Specialist Care Team, who support seriously unwell children and their families in their homes, as well as helping to facilitate Family Activity Days and Noah's Ark Children's Groups in the community. Alongside providing clinical support, the Specialist Carers bring smiles, laughter and normality to a child's life, helping both children and their families in the face of unimaginable adversity.

“I first encountered the wonderful work of the Specialist Care Team through a BBC Children in Need video about Jules, a Specialist Carer, who left his job in the city to work with children. Seeing and learning about the wonderful work of Jules and the rest of the Specialist Care Team inspired me to support this wonderful cause, which is so important to the local community. The Pavers Foundation grant scheme is the perfect way of showing my support.”

Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice has in the last month opened The Ark, a new children’s hospice building for North and Central London. Situated in a beautiful 7.5-acre nature reserve, it will enable the launch of urgently needed paediatric palliative care services that are not currently available to children and their families, which includes 24-hour end-of-life care. The Ark, with its Music Room, Sensory Room, Soft Play Room and Art Room, will also be a place of fun, smiles and precious moments to cherish; a place for children and their families to live as more than just patients and carers.

“On behalf of all of the children and families supported by Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice, thank you so much to the Pavers Foundation for choosing to support our Specialist Care programme. This donation will enable our incredible team of Specialist Carers to support more children than ever before; in their homes, in the community, and in The Ark; our new children’s hospice building.”
