Pavers Foundation donates to community-focussed Glasgow Youth Team

The Pavers Foundation, charitable initiative of the UK leading, multi-channel shoe retailer Pavers, has awarded £1,000 to Glaschu Gaels youth Gaelic football club, following an employee grant application submitted by Isabel McKinlay, a Customer Advisor at Pavers in Glasgow.

The club will use the money to facilitate weekly training for the team, of which Isabel’s grandchildren are members as well as investing in training and development for their coaches. The club also has a strong focus on promoting lifelong participation in physical activity, as well as promoting the values of the Gaelic Athletics Association and achieving strong links with the local community, which has a strong synergy with the Pavers Foundation’s own philanthropic strategy.

Isabel applied for the funding from the Pavers Foundation after sponsoring her grandchildren in the past through the club and recognising the fantastic work they club do, not only for the youth you participate in training but also for the community causes they support. “On behalf of myself and Glasgow Gaels I would like to say a big thank you to Pavers Foundation for the donation of £1,000. This will go a long way towards getting new kits and equipment for the children”.

“Glasgow Gaels wishes to thank Pavers Foundation for their generous donation to our youth section. Gaels are a proud family orientated club offering Gaelic Football to men, ladies and youth players in Glasgow. In keeping with the ethos of the Gaelic Athletic Association, we keep close ties with the community and have a strong presence in several local schools. A club which relies entirely on the goodwill of our volunteers, we take great pride in the extra charitable work we do with our neighbours. The youth teams, like all sections of Glasgow Gaels, always strive to improve performance on and off the pitch. Coach development and purchase of new equipment & gear for training sessions & games are just some of the things the funds are earmarked for. The contribution of Pavers will help us to continue to bring our youth players games against an array of opposition and experiences that they won’t forget!”

The Pavers Foundation has to date impacted over 260 worthwhile causes and charities across the UK and beyond with donations amounting to over £1 million to date. They have also supported 4 major UK Charities as part of their Charity of the Year initiative and are currently partnered with mental health charity Shout 85258 for 2021.
