Our Chosen Charity, Macmillan Cancer Support

In December we announced that Pavers employees had helped to bring a successful start to The Pavers Foundation by voting for Macmillan Cancer Support as our first ever chosen charity.

Every six months we nominate four charities to be put to a popular vote amongst our colleagues at Pavers Shoes, Jones Bootmaker and Herring Shoes, the causes are chosen based on our core values, healthcare, education and community.

The cause which receives the most votes is selected as one of our two annual charities.

As such, a phenomenal £62,500 has been donated to the charity that is relentless in providing incredible care for those directly affected by cancer. In December, both Stuart and Jason Paver met with Sophie and Clara from Macmillan, to handover the donation and discussed how this donation will make a difference to both the charity and surrounding communities.

We were thrilled to learn that this donation could fund a local Macmillan Nurse for one year, or provide 2,232 hours of nursing hours. This care includes medical and emotional support for patients and their loved ones. Macmillan provides support which goes far beyond what the NHS can afford to provide, focusing on the holistic needs of a patient alongside medical care.

This life changing donation would not have been possible without the help of our colleagues at Pavers, their vote means that hundreds of those directly affected by cancer will receive incredible support through the darkest times.
