It’s Our Industry – Let’s Support Each Other, Together

The Fashion & Textile Children’s Trust (FTCT) has received a donation of £7,500 from the Pavers Foundation. The donation came after Graham Paver, Trustee of the Pavers Foundation, nominated the charity for funding to support children of UK fashion and textile employees. The definition of fashion and textiles incorporates any company involved in the manufacture, selling, distribution or servicing of fashion and textiles products.

FTCT believe that no fashion or textile family should struggle financially to meet their child's needs and that no child should be without. The charity offers confidential help and financial aid for essential items – anything from school uniform and footwear to mobility equipment for children with additional needs. The grants given to families are financial donations and don’t have to be repaid. FTCT also signposts families to other charities who may be able to help further.

The donation of £7,500 is enough to allow the charity to provide grants that will pay for 30 beds with bedding for children who don't have their own space to sleep, or is equivalent to purchasing 30 washing machines to allow families to wash their children’s clothes.

Anna Pangbourne, Director of FTCT said:

“We are incredibly grateful to the Pavers Foundation for making this generous donation to our charity.

Our two organisations share a determination to empower families and communities to be the best they can be, so it’s an honour to be entrusted with this money to carry out this work. Every penny we receive through trusts and donations goes directly towards supporting children whose parents work, or have worked, in fashion and textiles. The essential items parents buy with our grants will go towards improving the wellbeing of thousands of children – both now and in the future.”

Between July 2017 and June 2018 the charity helped to support over 650 children and awarded more than £375,000 in financial grants to children of UK fashion and textile employees.

We’re so pleased to be able to support this wonderful charity, who help so many in the industry we’ve called home since 1971.
