Donnington Boxing Club has received £1,000 from The Pavers Foundation to help purchase new equipment and fund travel for children who take part in competitions away from home.
The donation came after a member of the team at our store in Telford, applied through the employee-grant initiative to support the boxing club.
Donnington Boxing Club work to keep young children off the streets and away from trouble, helping to instill focus, discipline, and self confidence. The children who attend the club regularly take part in competitions away from home, and because of this, the club regularly tries to come up with new ideas and ways to fundraise to help fund these trips, ensuring competitions can be reached.
Marie Samuels, Retail Area Manager at Pavers said: “It’s great to see Pavers Foundation supporting local clubs in the area. Donnington Boxing Club and Head Coach Tristan do some fantastic work encouraging young people to take up boxing in turn teaching them discipline, getting them off the streets and in some cases making professional boxers of them.
The team there are truly committed to the club, holding regular training sessions, taking them to ‘fight nights’ all around the country and giving up lots of their spare time to do this. The club will hugely benefit from the donation in terms of much needed equipment.”
Tristan Davies, Head Coach of Donnington Boxing Club said:
