The Pavers Foundation has awarded Kingsbridge Girls Rugby Team a £500 grant as a result of their mammoth fundraising efforts. The grant was awarded following an application by Tony Grant, Warehouse Operative at Herring, a brand of the Pavers family.
Tony applied to the Foundation to support the Girls’ age 11-18 squad, in which his 2 daughters play. Tony is a keen supporter of the club himself, and is planning on completing both a first aid and a coaching course to support them.
“[being in the team] has given my daughters confidence, team spirit and a means of healthy exercise”Tony Grant, Herring Warehouse
The team have already raised £500 themselves through various activities including bag packing, a ‘swimathon’, bingo night, raffles and plan to sell sponsorship of their shirts to raise more money. The Foundation is proud to be able to match £500 of their fundraising to allow the team to purchase essential equipment for training such as dry robes to keep the players warm on the touchline.
